This happens to be my favorite way to make chocolate sauce, it’s quick and easy.  The texture is thin and I’m sure there are plenty of people out there that have rich and creamy “Paleo” sauces too, but I’m not going to put tons of effort into it. So, my recipe calls for 2 ingredients…

  • 1/4 c date water (see comments)
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Heat the date water/juice in a medium microwave proof bowl and cook for 20 seconds in the microwave.

Add unsweetened cocoa powder to the warm date juice and whisk until blended.

COMMENTS: DATE WATER?  I use dates in lots of my baking and they’re a quick sweet treat incase I have some sudden sugar craving.  I take 2 cups of dates and pack them into a mason jar, leaving 1 inch to the top, add water and cover.  Let it refrigerate for at least a day.  The dates and water stay good for about 2 months.

Any thoughts?
